Full Itinerary

Day 1

Vientiane – Vang Vieng – Cave Visiting

At 8:30 in the morning, prepare to be picked up. Your Short Trip begins. The guide will also transfer with you, and we will then head towards Vang Vieng. Vang Vieng is a gorgeous small town where the Nam Song River gently curves through. Surround the town is a spectacular natural landscape of limestone karsts. The way moving to Vientiane is enjoyable with scenic sight. As you arrive in Vang Vieng, check in your hotel and have some rest.

In the afternoon, at 14:00 pm, we will transfer together to Tham Jung cave, which was the shelter of the people near the southern Muang Xong village during the war. Move on to the next destination – Tham Loup. This cave is massive, wild, and captivating with the features inside, such as beautiful arrays of stalagmites and stalactites, ponds, and small plantations. Due to these features, the cave is the place to start a long journey of in-depth cave exploration. Late in the afternoon, we will be present at the hotel and have the rest of the time for relaxation.

Day 2

Vang Vieng – Cycling Around

Today, the exciting biking trip to the mountain is waiting for us ahead. We will arrive in several stunning caves. One of them is the auspicious and venerated “Cave of the Golden Crab” - Tham Phoukham. Inside, the cave is astounding with secret corridors full of stalagmites and stalactites, deep wells, and up-to-80-meter-high chimneys. Following the west, the trail is rougher and bumpier.

The way along Houay San stream is quite narrow, but the scene is quite lovely. We follow the path to Pha Deng, which is also known as the "red cliff." If the weather is on your side, then it will save your energy from carrying the bike through the muddy patches.

The first village on the banks of the Nam Khouang river is now revealed – Phonxay village. From then on, the dirt road that parallels the Nam Khouang river will be easier and smoother. As we reach the crossroads in Ban Nathong Tai, we can see the road that leads to Nam Song Bridge. Then, we return to Vang Vieng.

Day 3

Vang Vieng – Kayaking and Visiting the Organic Farm

Proceed the tour; we will enter deeper into Vang Vieng natural sites. In the morning, after breakfast, hop on the vehicle, and we will drive to the Khmu village of Viengsamay. It lies 10 km to the north of Vang Vieng, where rarely has vehicle shuttles. As we arrive at the destination, we continue to transfer by local boat to the Nam Ou river downstream.

En route, we will make port at several captivating natural caves, where is untouched and beautiful naturally. Then, arrive in the Organic Farm after some minutes of walking. In this farm, visitors can observe people hatch and process mulberry tea and fruit wines. You can grab yourself some products as long as you love to try the Laotian drink.

In the late afternoon, we travel back to Vang Vieng Town and enjoy the rest free time.

Day 4

Vang Vieng – Vientiane

Meals: Breakfast

Wake up soon to have morning strolling around this lovely town since this is our last morning on tour. Enjoy your served breakfast at the hotel. Then, head back to Vientiane to catch your departure flight. The tour with Asia Private Travels ends here!

â–º Visa Requirements:  Laos visa on arrival is available at Luang Prabang and Vientiane International aiports as well as the border checkpoints. You will need to prepare a passport with at least 6 months in validity, 2 passport - size photos and cash for the handling fee. Visa fee ranges from $20 - $42 USD depending on your nationality.

  • 5 - 11 years old: 75% of the regular fare will be applied.
  • From 12 years and older: 100% of the regular fare will be applied.

  • Christmas and New Year’s Eve: Compulsory meals would be added during these times of the years, depends on hotels or resorts you stay.
  •  Laos New Year: Extra fee required.
