Day 1

Vientiane Arrival

Day 2

Vientiane City Tour

Vientiane capital always urges tourists to discover the over hundred-year temples, monuments; the little cities influenced the Indo Chinese style and the diverse cultural features of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, American and Soviet that becomes parts of the capital lifestyle.

Among all the fascinating places, Wat Sisaket is proud to be on the top of the worth visiting destination in Vientiane. This temple is famous for being the oldest temple that still preserves in excellent condition the precious silver and porcelain images. Thanks for the temple existence, some glorious scene of the rich past is revealed to the modern world.

After flowing along the river of history in Wat Sisaket, we leave to discover a new fantastic place, which is the Haw Phra Kaeo. This temple is magnificent with undeniable astounding structure, wall patterns, erections, and a spacious courtyard that is home for the frangipani trees. Day 3

Vientiane – Hin Boun

After Vientiane, Hinboun is the next picturesque province we are going to visit. Though the transfer takes about 6 hours, on the other hand, the scenery of spectacular limestone formations and the site around are breathtaking.

You are not driving straight to Hiboun; we will stop at the stupa that dated back from the 15th century. This stupa is a living art when it possesses such skillful, attractive Laos ancient structure and lies among the natural wonders.

Next is a hill-tribe market, where isn’t as bustling and as plenty-goods as markets in urban, but it is distinctive with the indigenous handicraft, colorful pattern and textile cloth, and the in-traditional-costume villagers. This will be a huge opportunity to shoot many fantastic, impressive photos.

Late in the afternoon, we finally reach Hiboun, where impress tourists with charming limestone scenery and the mellow bend river that gently flow through the town. Transfer to your hotel your check-in, and we will overnight in Hinboun

Day 4

Hin Boun – Thakhek

In the morning, you will take a boat ride to Kong Lor Cave with Asia Private Travels. At this spectacular cave, it opens a new world with beautiful natural features. This cave is massive when it is up to 7.5 km long and 100 m high. Through the trail, stalactites and stalagmites forming on the top and walls are stunning to contemplate. The underground river, which creates a gorgeous flow, also paints to a picturesque cave’s picture.

To discover the gigantic cave in the fastest way, we will embark on a long tail boat. While inside, we will have a lamp to illuminate our paths. After an exciting, scenic trip, we will stop on the other side of the cave and start the trekking trip to the village nearby.

There, you can communicate with locals, watch their idyllic lifestyle, and immerse yourself into the chill freshwater of the beautiful river. More interesting info about the village biography, it is the home for many wild creatures like monkeys, large cats like Clouded Leopard, Civet Cat, and Tiger. About plants, the region owns local Fauna; the typical types are Ferns, rare Orchids, Cycads, and many kinds of Epiphytes. 

Later in the afternoon, on the vehicle, we will travel 1 hour to Thakaek. Located in South-Central Laos, between Vientiane and Champasak province, Thakaek bears the same-name with the provincial capital, which was once an important trading port. Under the French colonial period, Thakaek marks the impression of the glorious colonial town with gigantic westerner-style buildings, broad avenue, and crowds walking on the street.

Though the prosperous time had passed still, Thakaek remains the age - old constructions from that era. Besides this feature, visitors who travel to Laos southern-central region would find Thakahek convenient to stopover and half-way rest.

Day 5

Thakhek – Pakse

If you would like to purchase the Laotian domestic or to observe the people's lifestyle, then let’s tour the local market of Talat Lak Sawng. You can call it the market Km 2 since locals usually use that name. Then we go to Savannakhet on National Road 13 to begin our new adventure.

But before that, we will make a stop at That Ing Hang, where is considered as the second most sacred place in southern Laos after Wat Phou. It was repaired in the 16th and 20th centuries by the French. On the top of the stupa, exist a golden part that reserves a Buddha’s relics.

On arrival in Savannakhet, we will visit the fascinating Dinosaur Museum (closing Saturdays and Sundays), which is operating under the control of the French and Laotian.

In the afternoon, we will enter a fine local restaurant to enjoy local food. Later on, we proceed to travel to Pakse. It shall be in the late afternoon that we reach the destination. Enjoy your free time after check-in hotel. Spend the night in Pakse.

Day 6

Pakse – Champasak – Khong Island

In the morning, say goodbye to Pakse since you and Asia Private Travels are heading for the 4000 islands, where is spectacular with beautiful nature and gorgeous waterfalls. En route, we will make a stop at Vat Phou temple, which was in the list of UNESCO World Heritage. This is an impressive architecture with three levels, which carry the feature of the pre-Angkorian style. 

After a moment of respect at the sacred temple, we continue the journey to Ou Mong Ruins, where it was a gorgeous construction, but now just a remain. Then, head to the Khone Papheng, which is one of the most favorite waterfalls in the 4000 islands. With the length of 10 kilometers, Khone Papheng becomes Laos remarkable natural landscape and the most magnificent waterfall throughout Southeast Asia.

Considered as the biggest islands of the Si Phan Done area, Don Khong not just carries itself an ecosystem with animal species but also attractive with the natural site. Then, be laid-back at the pool in the hotel and enjoy the scene.

Day 7

Khong Island – Around – Pakse

At Don Det and Done Khone, you will have a peaceful moment to explore the scenic, tranquil region since here is called the heaven of backpackers. To get to the destination, we will travel by boat on the Mekong river. While cruising, the pictures of kids splashing the water and fishermen hatching their net are really nice to enjoy. 

As we arrive, take a bike tour, and ride to feel the fresh ambiance of these two islands. While riding, we will stop at Ban Khone fishing village to have a glimpse of the simple life of the locals and also to discover the French railway tracks and the gorgeous Liphi Waterfall. 
While having an epic experience, don’t forget to take awesome pictures to save on your traveling album.

In the afternoon, we end the visit of these two islands and get on the motorboat to visit the Cambodian border, where is well-known for being the habitat of the Irrawaddy dolphins – unique, rare freshwater dolphins. 

At the end of our day tour, let’s travel back to Pakse and enjoy your leisure time. Meals on your account and spend the night at the hotel.

Pakse - Departure

â–º Visa Requirements:  Laos visa on arrival is available at Luang Prabang and Vientiane International aiports as well as the border checkpoints. You will need to prepare a passport with at least 6 months in validity, 2 passport - size photos and cash for the handling fee. Visa fee ranges from $20 - $42 USD depending on your nationality.
