Satri House Secret Retreats

Everything about Satri House is just perfect. The staff can not do enough for you. They make you feel so welcome and are very attentive in a very dignified way. The property retains all the old character and the attention to detail is incredible. The lush garden areas are maintained to an extremely high standard, which makes for a very relaxing and tranquil experience. All of the food we had was delicious and well presented. The Sunset boat cruise was just wonderful. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Satri House for making our first visit to Laos a very memorable one

We come from London and have visited a lot of fine hotels around the world. We have stayed at the Satri House Hotel for the nearly 4 weeks in total over the last 3 years. It is our favourite hotel. Our bed is always so comfortable. The breakfast is the best. The staff are fantastic and the garden and surroundings are blissful

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Satri House. Very beautiful and peaceful. Wonderfully helpful staff who helped us arrange tour of surrounding countryside. Best breakfast of all of our stays in SE Asia. Highly recommend for peace and quiet. We took 5 minute tuk-tuks to and from downtown as opposed to a 20 minute walk

We stayed at a lot of great places in our trip to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Some had better views or fancier bars/restaurants, but of them all Satri was our favorite. Why? It felt historic with stunning landscaping. We loved our room. Really enjoyed ordering off the menu for breakfast instead of a big buffet. Their crepe, and their noodles were some of our favorite restaurant meals. And the tasting menu at night was the favorite tasting menu. The big reason was the staff. SO friendly, helpful. the best. Plus it was in such easy walking distance to other restaurants. Quiet but close in. Just wish the weather would have allowed us to enjoy the pool and our balcony. It was unusually cold...so the staff had a fire going in the lounge for everyone to enjoy

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is in a quiet location but within a 20 minute walk of the night market and main areas. There are also some lovely places to eat and drink near the hotel. The hotel is clean & beautifully maintained. The bed was so comfortable. Would definitely stay here again

We stayed 3 nights and each time were upgrade to a more luxurious room thanks to Ivan's kindness. Welcome drink at the bar, which is nice. Many talk about feeling like in the movie "Indochine" and they are right! So you've got to like that kind of atmosphere; we did! Staff is most attentionate and with an unexpected sense of humour.

For our first trip to Laos my wife and I didn't know what to expect. The Satri House has both old and new buildings. Our room was in one of the old buildings. It was a spacious and comfortable room with a great bed. The food for breakfast was very good as was the lunch and dinners. They have a beautiful outdoor bar, which supplied us with Mosquito Spray. Our last morning after breakfast we went for a massage, which was both different and exceptional. The two lady's who did the massages were excellent at their trade. All the staff were fantastic as was the service. We recommend the Satri House to anyone staying in Luang Prabang. We also recommend guests taking the time to get a massage

We had a very good time here and were well looked after buy the very friendly staff. Breakfasts were great, rooms were comfortable and if we had one small complaint the AC was a bit clunky. Would happily recommend

We stayed a couple of days in this ex residence of a laotian prince (the red prince) and you feel like being a guest in his private residence. The hotel is full of rich details, everywhere you look you see buddha statues, antique furniture, old pictures, great black/white fotographs, little fountains and so on. The garden is full of tropical plants and trees and is meticulously kept. The ambience could not be better. There are two pools on the premises, one lap pool and one regular pool. The rooms are just out of this world, many decorative items give you a fine asian atmosphere. The rooms have nice bathrooms with extra toilet and a walk in closet. Ours had a big and well furnished terrace. Housekeeping pays every attention to detail. Breakfast is served a la carte in the beautiful restaurant. Food is great and service excellent. All staff in the hotel is friendly, attentive and efficient.The hotel is located a bit off the main tourist areas like the main street with the nightmarket but that exactly underlines the exclusivity of this charming oasis. Highly recommended

The hotel is relatively small with 31 rooms and two small swimming pools set in beautiful grounds. Panama hats on the sunbeds were a nice touch. Near one of the pools was a bar. On arrival we were offered a complimentary drink from the bar and offered Laos whisky to try! Our room was large with a four poster bed and antique furniture and a wooden floor. There was an empty fridge in the room and 6 bottles of complimentary water. There was a sala outside are room where we sat with our evening drinks. Staff were all helpful. There was an a la carte menu for breakfast which included Laoatian and European food. There was a variety of different coffees and teas. The hotel was a 20 minute stroll away from the night market and bars and restaurant area. Very Close to the hotel was the Manda de Laos restaurant which was one of the more expensive local restaurants. We recommend making a reservation if you want to eat there. The hotel also has a restaurant but we did not try it
