Not o be confused with the Sengahloune Villa about 300 metres away, the much larger Sengahloune Resort is set riverside right next to the old French bridge.
The resort has a row of wooden bungalows on the riverfront, plus a newly erected multi story wing also fronting the river, behind which is another row of bungalows.
We chose one of the newer rooms overlooking the river and were very happy with our choice. The room was quite large and airy with all mod cons. One unique feature of the room was the large day bed with picture windows that opened up to the river and to the adjacent balcony.
Also on the resorts lush grounds is a large and very welcoming swimming pool. It should be noted that the surrounding sun lounges are now covered with foam mats and sheets during the day.
The supplied breakfast is modest but adequate. There is cereal, fruit, eggs, muffins, baguette's, great pancakes, fruit juice and of course tea and coffee.
The staff are great, friendly and helpful, although English is not their strong point. Despite this lack of language, we never had a problem getting our message across. “Tep” the manager was great and had good communication skills.
