Sanctum Inle Resort

Arriving by long boat from the lake to the resort’s jetty (surrounded by serene floating gardens & scenery) was a visual treat & set the delightful mood for our entire stay at this top-notch resort. The view of the hotel from that vantage point is quite lovely as is the hotel design. The property is very well maintained & the rooms are spotlessly clean. We stayed in a more standard room (quite nice & also a bargain, imho) & then in one of the villas which was spacious, had high vaulted ceilings, a terrifically comfy & soft bed (not always a guarantee in SE Asia where beds can be quite firm) & the villa was surrounded by a large landscaped area and faced out to the waterways & lake beyond. I’d definitely recommend booking the villa if possible as it was wonderfully serene & quiet. An extensive breakfast is included & the hotel bar is inviting and makes great cocktails of all kinds and has yummy small-bite menu items. They also have a restaurant with a comprehensive menu to suit all tastes. There is a large pool area & multiple exterior lounge areas facing the lake which are perfect spots to enjoy a sundowner cocktail and small snacks were always provided with the beverages. The staff are all nice, gracious & helpful. But a special note should be made about the resort’s general manager Batiste. He goes out of his way to ensure a great guest experience. Not only did he extend a special kindness regarding our room / booking (thanks again!) but he clearly is a key to the resort running so smoothly with a keen eye to detail, service, & anticipating guest needs. He effortlessly stayed on top of matters when a large rush of guests arrived our 2nd night and helped lead & support his staff to provide great service. We’d definitely stay here again.

It really was such a pleasure to be here, four nights were not enough! The gardens and grounds, the splendid views, the delightful and truly extra-ordinary bedrooms, the restaurants......all the facilities and services were excellent, and the staff were very professional and welcoming. And of course there are such great trips to be made from here by boat on the lake. We were very sorry to have to leave & we hope very much to be able to return here one day.  

We spent 3 glorious nights at Sanctum prior to embarking on a River Cruise. From the moment we arrived by long boat we were just overwhelmed by the beauty of this Resort. We were greeted by the GM Baptiste who welcomed us with a refreshing towel and cool drink and from that moment on every detail from the location, meals, ambience and amazing staff was perfect. Keep a torch handy though - very occasional black outs were experienced but in no way impacted on our stay.

This resort was quite a surprise. Given the location (in what is the middle of not much else), I wasn’t expecting much but it was fantastic from start to finish. The architecture is lovely and the grounds well maintained. The staff was very kind and on top of everything. The rooms are very big with comfortable beds and goods linens. There’s even a big bathtub! Air conditioning works great and there’s good lighting. There’s a good fitness center and spa. While expensive for Myanmar, it was a terrific Thai massage. The WiFi cut in and out but I understand that’s normal for Myanmar. The location is mixed - it’s lovely on the water with beautiful sunsets however there is nothing nearby to walk to. You must have a car for everything. This is a small price to pay for what is a classic hotel with modern amenities. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

We very much enjoyed our stay here - chosen on the basis of reviews on here which we felt were very accurate. Excellent peaceful location. Very attentive service. Lovely room. Reasonably priced excursions on the lake. Good food. Well managed.

For our three day stop at Inle Lake we stayed at the Sanctum Inle Resort. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was spacious with plenty of space to store clothes and all of our gadgets. Every morning breakfast was very satisfying with plenty of options. The restaurant offered a complete menu with a wide variety of Asian and Western foods. The restaurant setting is beautiful overlooking the pool and the lake in the distance. Yet the real jewel for the Sanctum is the staff. Always very friendly and ready to take care of any need. The general manager, Baptiste, was constantly checking on us, answering questions, giving advice, and making certain that our stay was a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend the Sanctum for anyone looking for an ideal place to stay in the Inle Lake area.

If you're looking for a place to relax in comfort, this could be the place for you. It has a lovely setting, with gardens leading down to the jetty where boats will take you onto the lake, past a village with floating gardens. Our room was spacious with a really comfortable bed and, since it's in a quiet neighbourhood, you should get a good night's sleep. Food is excellent, especially breakfast, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. You could argue that the hotel itself lacks atmosphere, being very western-style, but the atmosphere comes form the lovely surroundings.

We arrived by long boat and loved every minute. The people are so nice. The manager greeted us with tea. An infinity pool awaited. The food was very good and reasonable. Dinner offered a la cart or a 5 set menu. The bar was fully stocked and they could make anything with a smile. Beds were so comfortable and there is even a “pillow menu” to meet your sleeping needs. On our return from sightseeing, a couple was going on a sunset cruise with big pillow chairs not the long boat. Cute. Only wish we could stay longer.

We loved our stay here. We approached by water and were greeted by the sight of the impeccable grounds and the beauty of this hotel. Our room was extremely well equipped and catered to all our needs. The food in the restaurant was excellent and together with their wonderful staff we couldn’t have asked for more. Just one small blip in as much as there was a problem with the water supply one evening which did cause some inconvenience but these things happen and we can forgive because everything else was first class. Can thoroughly recommend a stay here.

What a fantastic and beautiful resort. Superb location right on the lake with the floating villages. The resort is 6 stars with professional, very friendly staff and fantastic food. Our room the junior suite is super large and beautiful decorated, very clean, fantastic bed and linen, we could not ask for anything more. Thank you all making our holiday very memorable.
