The arrival to the hotel is quite beautiful. After a 30 minute boat ride cutting through houses on stilts and a wide lake you get to the hotel. It’s surrounded by lush vegetation floating on the lakes surface.
Quiet does not describe it. First impressions were good. The rooms/villas were ok. Looking from a far they looked idyllic, inside though they need a little work. Don’t get me wrong they are not bad, just a little tired.
The bathrooms could do with a shower. Inside each room is a fire. It gets chilly on the lake at night, so the staff light it at night.
Although it warms the room, ventilation is not great. It’s one thing I’d ask the hotel to look into. Perhaps it’s an allergy I didn’t know I had to the bricks they use in the fire.
The food was fresh. On a lake surrounded by farms you’d expect it to be. It did not disappoint. Service was always with a smile.
Given where you are and how hard it must be to upkeep a hotel surrounded by water it was a great place to stay. I’d recommend it, but caution against the fire in the room. As for the setting of the hotel. Awesome.
Quite stunning. See it now before the tourist trade cottons on to it.
