Your first stop on the Phnom Penh city tour is the Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes, a poignant site in Phnom Penh. In 1975, the Tuol Svay Prey High School was taken over by Pol Pot's security forces and turned into a prison known as Security Prison 21 (S-21). This soon became the country's largest center for detention and torture.
The former S-21 has since been transformed into the Tuol Sleng Museum, serving as a testament to the atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge regime.
