Today is dedicated to the exploration of the magical Angkor temples. In the early morning, ride a tuk-tuk to Ta Prohm, situated southwest of East Mebon and east of Angkor Thom. Among the grandest monuments within the Angkor complex, Ta Prohm's complex includes 260 statues of gods, 39 pinnacle towers, and 566 residential groupings. Besides, the trees that have grown from the ruins are perhaps the most distinctive feature of Ta Prohm.
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you prepare for a day in Siem Reap to discover temples. We first visited Angkor Thom. Then head to the famous Bayon Temple - a magnificent construction that was built in the 12th century, within the ancient city of Angkor Thom.
Continue your Cambodia travel to the Elephant Terrace, spanning over 300 meters and through the core of Angkor Thom. This terrace is adorned with carved elephants and garudas. Take a walk to the Terrace of the Leper King at the northern end of the Elephant Terrace.
Make a stop to rest and enjoy a traditional Khmer meal at the residence of a local family. Next, our trip to Siem Reap continued to explore Banteay Srei, a splendid Hindu temple complex from the 10th century, located 23 miles north of Angkor Wat. Finish your day with a visit to Preah Khan, one of Angkor's largest temples.
