We begin the full-day tour with a morning visit to Sagaing, where you'll cross a bridge to the Irrawaddy River, revealing a breathtaking sight of 600 pagodas and monasteries with white paint. This is home to 3,000 monks and 100 meditation institutions, allowing you to delve into the region's spiritual heritage. Back to the 14th to 18th centuries, when discovering famous pagodas such as Swan Oo Pon Nya Shin and U Min Thone Sae.
We head south to the former capital of Ava and hop on a short boat ride to visit Bagaya Monastery, the Royal Palace, and the Fort. Then we will travel through the ruins of Ava in a horse-drawn carriage, immersing yourself in the old village life of rural Burma. You'll have the chance to enjoy lunch in Ava before continuing your Myanmar tour.
As you return to the city, make a stop in Amarapura, named the "City of Immortality". The next stop of the Mandalay day tour is a silk weaving studio or strolls along the iconic U-Bein Bridge, constructed from 984 teak pillars and spanning 1.2 kilometers. You can take in the stunning scenery of nearby farmland and streams when you explore this historic wonder.
The day's culture & history trip finishes in the late afternoon. You return to Mandalay Center.
