Kalaw Hills are known for the tranquil beauty of its potato, rice fields, and rural villages, as well as the hospitality of the locals. The weather is enjoyable all year round for trekking, so don’t miss this chance to slowly admire this verdant region in your Myanmar travel!
The full-day Kalaw trekking starts at 8:30 AM, when you depart from the hotel with the escort of our guide and wander in the town. Enjoy the sightseeing and visit a local market in the next 45 minutes.
After the warm-up, you will trek up the hills for about 2 hours to reach Lutpyin, which is a Danu village. The main grown plants here are rice, ginger, pear, avocado and banana, so you can admire the fruitful cultivation in Kalaw while trekking.
To continue the Kalaw day trip, you will join a 30-minute walk to the Taungchay. Don’t worry if the walk has nothing to entertain you. You might meet locals along the way and take some pictures with them, as long as they are willing to do so.
The next phase of the escorted trekking tour is a walk to Myinmahti Village. Here, you can admire some Buddha figures in the local limestone cave.
After spending so much energy in the morning, lunch will be at a local restaurant filled with specialities of Danu.
After some rest, the transfer from Asia Private Travels will wait for you to come back to Kalaw. You can choose to take the car (30 minutes) or walk back to the hotel (2 hours).
A short tour in Kalaw comes to an end.
