Meals: Lunch
In the morning, the Asia Private Travels tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel to start your Inle Lake boat tour. Once everything is ready, you'll board the private boat for an unforgettable first-hand experience.
Along the way, you'll witness the local Inthar fishermen's unique way of catching fish. They balance the boat using only one leg while using the other to hold the fishing cage. With one arm, they aim for the fishing cage, and the other arm is used for steering. Feel free to ask them about their technique for catching fish for your lunch in this Inle Lake short tour. If you're unable to catch any fish, you can find plenty of fresh fish at the nearby market.
As you sail along the lake, you'll get a chance to see the floating gardens that locals have created. Farmers plant beds of produce here and the vegetables are nurtured by the nutrients from the lake. You can even purchase fresh produce for lunch right there.
Later on, you'll visit a local Intha house, where you'll participate in a fun Inle Lake cooking class, learning how to prepare traditional Inthar dishes. The host will warmly welcome you and teach you how to make delicious local food such as stuffed carp or catfish (depending on the catch) steamed in banana leaf, Inthar tomato salad, fried tofu cakes, stuffed potato rice balls, and more.
Around midday, you'll be brought back to your hotel to relax. It’s the end of your tour in Myanmar.
If you are still interested in a boat tour, you can extend your river trip by joining the Myanmar River Cruise offered by Asia Private Tour.
