This morning, the driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel in Mandalay to start your amazing trip in Myanmar. From there, it takes two hours to drive to Shwebo, passing by the scenic Irrawaddy River and the picturesque countryside. This old village has historical meaning as it witnessed the fight to reclaim the country from the Mon began.
During your time in Shwebo, you can enjoy exploring the local market and experiencing the warm hospitality of the friendly locals, visiting the market which showcases primary agricultural products such as rice and sesame - that’s why it’s a highlight in Burma trips. Our next destination is the magnificent Maw Daw Mying Pagoda, where King Alaungpaya initiated his war against the Mon. Locals believe that this site, known as the "Wishing Ground," brings fortune and good health.
In the late afternoon, we will visit Kyauk Myaung village, situated about 27 kilometers east of Shwebo. This village is famous for its pottery industry, and Myanmar relies on the pottery produced here for storing water, oil, rice, and other essentials. You will have the opportunity to learn about the traditional regional methods of crafting these famous potteries. If you spend a short trip to Myanmar for several days, you can stay here to experience the local life!
Finally, return to your hotel by car to finish the day. Lunch and dinner arrangements are on your own.
