5-Day Mawlamyine Adventure

Activities: Capture the dawn at the Golden Rock, move to Hpa-An, discover KyaukKalat and Lakhana villages, Saddam cave, and stop at Shwe Yin Hmyaw Pagoda.

Let’s continue our Kyaukme Adventure in 5 Days, and do last-minute sightseeing of the Golden Rock as the misty sunlight appears. Watch the breathtaking sights of the huge Golden Rock at sunrise. After freshening up, trek down to the base camp and set off on your Myanmar trip to discover Hpa-An. Hpa An is a picturesque town about 270 kilometers east of Yangon.

The landscape, the nearby caves and mountains to explore, and the comfortable atmosphere are the signatures of the area. En route, make a stop to visit the lovely villages of KyaukKalat and Lakhani. Make your way to Saddam Cave - a well-known temple site southeast of Hpa An in Kayin State.

Take a light stroll through the cave for charming views on the other side. While moving back to the town, if time allows, you could stop at Shwe Yin Hmyaw Pagoda and capture a beautiful sunset over the Salween River. This is the last stop of our short trip exploring Burma.

Activities: Visit the morning market, transfer to Mawlamyaing, stop in Kawhnat village, explore the city, and transfer to the top of the hill for sunset.

Freshen up your day tour in Myanmar with a visit to the bustling morning market to soak in the daily life of the locals. Afterward, take a road transfer to Mawlamyaing. Mawlamyine, the charming tropical capital of Mon State and one-time administrative center of British Burma, has many old colonial buildings lining its quiet streets and is famous for its markets and seafood.

En route, make a stop in Kawhnat Village, which houses many beautiful temples in the region. After reaching the city, take a short Burma Tour to explore the area before transferring to the top of the hill for a breathtaking sunset over the islands.

Activities: Take a look at the Zyegyi market, get on the local ferry to Bilu Island, make a tuk-tuk to the villages, then turn back to the hotel in Mawlamyine.

Start a new day with a visit to the bustling, colorful Zyegyi - the central market. Wander around the dozens of stalls where local people come to buy and sell their goods. Then, move to the riverside for a Burma cruise trip to Bilu Island by a local ferry. Upon arrival at the island’s jetty, you will be picked up by a tuk-tuk to visit villages.

These villages are the perfect place to get a feel for local lifestyles in Myanmar. There, you will see the making of traditional handicrafts such as pipes, small toys, walking sticks, and chalkboards. Your way between the villages filled with lush rice fields and farmland offers a great view to take as many photos as you wish. After a full day of active travel in Mawlamyaing on the island, turn back to your hotel in Mawlamyine. For a more interesting journey, you could book a bike ride across the island.
