The Hotel @ Tharabar Gate

When you arrive at the gate you are transported to a different world after the hustle an bustle of the road and city. all the staff are attentive and really look after you. The rooms are large with everything you require. Plenty of water which was replaced at night.The shampoo and conditioner were so good. The restaurant serves a variety of food by the poolside. which can get busy so it is easy to book a table in the evening. Lunch times are also relaxing. Happy hour is good as well While we were there it was my birthday and a special message was put on the bed in flowers which was so special. Also a cake and singing at breakfast. My best birthday. We also joined in a sticky rice festival only done at the hotel. All the staff are in teams and completed for the title. It is great fun and plenty of atmosphere and music When you go outside the gate there are other restaurants and lots of temples to see within walking distance. However You can get a guide from the hotel. to take you some of the other temples further away. ( for a cost must be reasonable i think)It is just outside the old wall. I would certainly recommend the hotel Well done.

We had a wonderful time for our 5th wedding anniversary here. The hotel even sent us a cake and and made the best up with rose pedals. It was so special. Our driver for the hotel MinMin also took us to an amazing spot up on a hill so we could see everywhere at sunset! This has been an amazing stay at such a beautiful place.

With so many options of places to stay in Bagan, I would highly recommend The Hotel @ Tharabar Gate! You can't beat the location, staff, and food! Bagan is amazing, but Tharabar Gate made it that much more special. From the second we arrived to the hotel we were greeted with helping hands and big smiles. Check-in was a breeze and as we were guided to our room, we were told about all the amenities of the hotel (in both English and Chinese), where we could get our hands on some electric bikes, as well as which temples to check-out first! The rooms were huge with plenty of space to unload our bags. The bed was super comfortable, there was a great workspace facing the window, and the bathrooms were equipped with everything you would need. With regards to food, the breakfast was fantastic and had everything you could imagine from yogurt, fresh fruit, ready to order omelettes, to a local breakfast. Dinner was especially delightful with the entire garden lit up with a reflection off of their stunning pool. When we return to Bagan, we will for sure stay here again!

We chose the Hotel @ Tharabar Gate to be in the heart of Old Bagan and we loved every minute of our stay! From the exquisite rooms, totally relaxing massage treatments, and the wonderfully refreshing Swimming pool to the unbeatable location (a few minutes from the awesome Ananda Temple), we would definitely choose this gem of a hotel when we return to Bagan!

Very good location in Bagan and absolutely lovely villa rooms that are large and well equipped. Service is excellent and the breakfasts were good. Pool deck area are beautiful, but it was too cold to really use the pool in January. Wish there was an outdoor hot tub, but we have not seen that in any of our hotels. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Hotel with great and professional staff Very clean and great service We had a wonderful stay with our family and we had a 1yr old baby with us. This place is excellent for couples or families, safe with wonderful grounds. We have book a driver to do the temples’ tour and they gave us Min Min who was great, very professional and listening to client’s needs so charming and friendly. However, I have to write about the food in the hotel not being very good and the orders taking way to long. I really think they can do better with their local resources but overall we had a wonderful time and all the staff in the hotel make our stay magic. Thank you all again!

We were mesmerised from the time we drove through Tharabar Gate, what an amazing location, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the service was exceptional. The path to our room was exotic and the accommodation ideal. The swimming pool was excellent surrounded by elephants. The staff did everything to make our stay wonderful.

The Tharabar Gate Hotel is perfectly situated right in the heart of Old Bagan with some of the most beautiful and important temples and pagodas just around the corner. The rooms are very nice and we always enjoyed to take a break at the pool. Not to forget the very friendly and very helpful staff.

I loved my stay here! You can't beat it for price and location. Beautiful garden, swimming pool and nice restaurant. Friendly staff! It is near the most popular temples and restaurants (according to my friends and Trip advisor-The Moon Cafe and Sun Cafe). It's fun to take an e-bike but it's more fun to relax and hire a tuk tuk guide. I had an amazing tour guide who took me to secret places that I would have missed on a bike and it's nice to not get lost! He knows the perfect spot to watch the sunset and knew where to take the perfect photos. Give him a call and enjoy your trip! So much fun!
