Living in Vientiane, I come to Vang Vieng often for both work and fun This time round it was a one-nighter, escorting some visiting friends on the first leg of their road trip to Luang Prabang.
I went through all the reviews (not so many yet) and I agree with all the good ones (which are the clear majority). From both the reviews and the responses, I think it is quite clear that this place is special. Kape (pronounced "Koppeh"), the Fin mentioned in other reviews, is a great manager who seems to have recruited and trained up a great team.
On this particular trip, I had inadvertently booked two rooms rather than one on a non-refundable basis. Kape helped me worked it out with the booking service I had used to get it refunded nevertheless. He didn't have to do that, but he did. This was much appreciated. And it reflects overall quality that this new entry brings to Vang Vieng.
Several quality hotels have opened recently in Vang Vieng. The Eden de Vang Vieng has them all beat on value for money. None come close
