Day 2
KAMPONG CHHNANG – KOH CHEN (CHINESE ISLAND)

It is the second day of cruising tour, as the sooner you wake up, the better. Have a good breakfast served on board and start your exciting trip. To enter deeper the narrow canals, we will take a small local boat. The first destination in the list: the town of ceramics.

Here is the tuk-tuk, the convenient vehicle in the countryside to get around. When discovering the rustic towns in the region, save for yourself some epic photos of the peaceful sites. If someone asks for a description of Cambodia countryside, tell them about the vast green paddies with palm trees, buffaloes in the open grassland or grinning kids gesturing with their stilt houses stating a welcoming "hello." It is such a touch of heart.

Back to the ship for a delicious traditional dinner after an enjoyable trip. Then waste your spare moment observing fishers ride on wooden boats or stay still and admire the peaceful landscapes. As you are relaxing, the ship continues to Kampong Tralach.

As soon as you arrive, let's jump right on an Ox Cart and experience the most common means of transport of the locals while heading to Kampong Tralach Temple. Be respect at Buddha worships place, and then, we will change the air. Now, we must hurry to be back at the Mekong River since the dusk is one site you cannot miss. The picturesque moment only lasts for a tick of time. Now it's time to sail to the old capital of Cambodia - Oudong's. When we arrive in Koh Chen - a traditional town renowned for its slavery of silver and copper, we will stop for a slow overnight.

"The organization of the trip is well thought out with visits to essential sites, discovering very specific and enriching activities. Navigation is a strong point with two nights spent on the boat. This allows everyone to share a pleasant and quiet moment. The Cruise and catering section is just perfect, all with an attentive, kind and helpful crew."

"We spent 3 days / 2 nights on this boat, during a cruise starting from Phnon Penh and ending at Kampong Chhnang, after having 'pushed' to Tonle Sap lake in order to visit a floating village. Everything was absolutely perfect. Our cabin on the upper deck was not luxurious, but clean and provided all the necessary comfort. The bed was a real Queen Size, the air conditioning was efficient and silent, the shower hot with sufficient water. The meals were local, but not spicy (in the 'hot' sense), and always excellent. The staff was wonderful, kind and helpful, and the visit to the floating village in a small motor boat was much nicer than what you can see from Siem Reap. This cruise exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely recommend it."

"We had the best time with the most thoughtful crew. The room is very beautiful with a really unique private room. The food is real khmer and the menu was chosen by Sopheap. I cannot say enough about this woman. She leaned back to make sure we had a full and wonderful experience; . including the individual driver who takes us to the next destination when we finish the journey. Her daughter is a copilot and you can tell that she has a knack for traveling. She gave us information about her city (Phnom Penh), asked our questions about schools, etc. and even asked us. She has small marshmallow snacks that she shares with us."

"Travelling on the Mekong Dawn from Phnom Penh was a great way to see local sights and understand the lifestyle of so many people live who on and around the river. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to give us a real insight into the lives of Cambodians. He was assisted by the rest of the crew who managed everything and nothing was too much trouble. The efficient air con and refreshing drinks were much appreciated. The food was fantastic. Thank you so much to our guide Samphora, in particular for making our trip one to remember."
