Highlights

Rewind the time as you board on to the gorgeous schooner Dallinghoo. She just seemed like an old maiden that stepped from a time machine and graces us with the magnificent gaff-rigged topsail. Despite her outer charming old-timey look, she went under a two-year rebuild from 2014 to 2016 to be completely renovated which updated the whole interior to the modern standard of luxury and comfort.

SY Dallinghoo Cruise Policy

1. Itineraries & Yachts

Unless otherwise specified, meeting time for all join-in cabin charter cruises is at 10:30am. All join-in cabin charter cruises end at 9:00am. Guests should be ready for departure at the pier in Kawthaung by the time indicated above.

2. Deposit and Reservation

The deposit is 30% of the total charter fee and due at the time of booking. Upon receiving this payment, Myanmar River Cruises will immediately send a receipt, which is also a booking confirmation. By submitting the payment, you confirm you and your party have read and accepted the terms of this Policy.

The remaining balance is due 70 days prior to arrival. If a booking is made 70 days or less before arrival, full fare payment must be made within 48 hours (all bank or credit card charges will be borne by the payer).

Late payment may be regarded as cancellation of the booking whereupon the booked space may not be secured. In this case, the relevant cancellation fees may apply.

3. Cancellation by the Guest

Myanmar River Cruises needs to be notified of booking cancellations by email. The date we reconfirm the notification is the date used for calculating the cancellation fee.

The following cancellation fees apply:

  • 30% of the charter fee, if booking is cancelled 95 days or more prior to departure date;
  •  80% of the charter fee, if booking is cancelled 70 to 35 days prior to departure date;
  • 100% of the charter fee, if booking is cancelled less than 35 days prior to departure date. The same applies for no-shows.

4. Cancellation and Liability by SY Dallinghoo

If prior to commencement of the charter, SY Dallinghoo cancels the booking or the entire charter, Guest shall be entitled to full reimbursement of all payments made without interest. The guests shall not be entitled to any compensation or penalty payments.

For cabin charter trips only, SY Dallinghoo reserves the right to cancel the cruise if the minimum number of 2 guests has not been reached.

If during the charter period, the yacht is disabled by breakdown of machinery, grounding, collision or any other cause so as to prevent reasonable use of the yacht by the guests, SY Dallinghoo shall make a pro rata refund of the charter fee for the period of disablement.

A modern yacht contains many pieces of machinery and equipment, which have to work in the harsh marine environment. Although the yachts are well-maintained, equipment breakdown can occur. As long as the quality of the trip is not unduly affected in the event of equipment breakdown, such a breakdown by itself is no ground for refund.

SY Dallinghoo is not responsible for theft or loss of money or any other valuables or items of any kind on board the yacht or elsewhere.

The yacht is insured against fire, damage, marine collision, risks and hazards of the voyage, including engine, hull and yacht equipment, for any and all casualty and loss or damage that may occur to or be suffered by the yacht or crew for the full term of the charter period. Coverage is excluded for loss of cash, negotiable instruments, precious metals or stones, valuables or objects of a rare or precious nature, belonging to persons.

SY Dallinghoo will not be held responsible for any injury or loss suffered by Guests or any loss, damage, injury, infection or pain suffered by either the guests’ persons or property, during the term of the charter. More specifically, but without limiting the foregoing, SY Dallinghoo and the yacht’s insurance underwriters accept no responsibility for accidents, injuries or death due to any activities, including but not limited to, diving, snorkeling, swimming, water skiing, surfing, windsurfing, sea kayaking, or hiking, no matter whether any equipment had been supplied by SY Dallinghoo or by the guest.

Upon boarding, guests may be required to sign a liability waiver.

5. Force majeure:

In the event of any causes beyond reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to acts of god, natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, strike, orders, regulations of the government, local weather or sea conditions etc., SY Dallinghoo will bear no responsibility for not providing its services, accommodation, meals, transportation or any other services.

6. Personal Insurance & Health

As in all tropical climates, the natural conditions can cause hazards or annoyances, which guests should avoid by ensuring proper dress and using appropriate protection. There is a risk of malaria and other tropical diseases in the area. Guests are required to inform themselves about vaccinations etc. before departure. The guests undertake to have all necessary vaccinations for the countries or regions to be visited. As there is an inherent risk in activities like sailing and holidays in tropical areas, guests are also required to procure travel health insurance covering all activities and sports they intend to undertake.

The nature of a charter may render it unsuitable for anybody with physical disabilities or undergoing medical treatment. The guests warrant their medical fitness for the cruise.

SY Dallinghoo advises that guests procure travel cancellation insurance to avoid the risk of having to pay cancellation fees.

Guest is required to adequately inform and consult the guests about all the above.

7. Dietary needs

For travelers with special dietary needs, they should contact with us at least 30 days prior to embarkation. The cruise liner will make the outmost effort to provide special dietary needs and requests basing on product’s availability.
