Day 2
BEN TRE – TRA ON

For the serene atmosphere of the delta of the Mekong, you should set the alarm clock to wake up early. After a deep breath of morning breeze, sip yourself a cup of tea and coffee and get ready for a busy tour day.

Warm your body up by wandering around the local market and join the busy trading scene of the local, who paddle the wooden ship and flow around the region selling their regional goods. When you are done with your breakfast, a sampan will wait for you in the Mekong Delta, as soon as you embark, you will achieve an exploration to narrow waterways and canals, which runs through paddles fields and lovely rural villages.

While rowing, you will find many unique scenes of the idyllic countryside, like the Nipa Palm plantation. The trip can be more interesting when you disembark the wooden boat to sightsee the coconut sweet-making factory. This unique candy is Vietnam and other countries in southeast Asia specialty.
Proceeding our plan, we will travel slowly along a local route to a village to discover local traditions. From here we will catch a local "Tuk Tuk” and transfer to cottage villages and farms. Buy a pack of fruit like dragon fruit or fresh watermelon to enjoy is one appropriate action that blends rightly to the scene and the atmosphere of the region you are at.

Afterward, we will take a local boat to head back the mother boat – Mekong Princess. Then, continue traveling to a more distant area in the Mekong Delta area.
Enjoy your lunch served on boat while we are getting through one of South East Asia's busiest commercial paths.

In the afternoon, the journey to remote places will begin with Phuoc Hau Pagoda. Your day will be unique that etch for a long time in the mind. "This is well worth visiting, a holiday to remember. The people are so friendly and helpful. The river is not particularly clean but there is a programme in place to educate the villagers in recycling and litter prevention."

"We would highly recommend visiting and enjoying the delta and the people that live there. It’s hard to imagine fighting a war there in the dense jungle."

"Just got back from a marvelous luxury 7 day cruise from Cambodia to Saigon on the Mekong Princess. Can't say enough about the fine attention we got from the crew, our beautiful and spacious Tonlee Suite, the fine food at all meals, and the overall experience."

"The Mekong Princess was a delightful boat, with only 20 travelers on board. We got to know all of the travelers every one was well traveled with fascinating experiences. The crew could not have been more attentive. The cabin, while not large, was perfectly adequate. The larger suites were locked up long in advance of the cruise. All of the tours were well planned most interesting. The only downside of the trip was the tour of the palace in Bangkok; it was so crowded you couldn't enjoy anything. We'd skip that. There were a lot of long walks but nothing strenuous. And while we had all meals on board, there were plenty of options to satisfy any food desires. If you want to get a great feel for life on the Mekong River, this is the way to go."
